![]() It's why we prefer temperature gages instead of idiot lights for overheating etc - we know what's normal and when it starts to act "different".īut for the most part, overheating is a common problem and turbo boost not being right isn't. ![]() ![]() ![]() So I think taking a look at your boost is good at least to get a baseline behavior in your mind even if your car is operating normally. If you're not getting proper boost - overboost or underboost, you will probably feel it without a gauge and can hook up the dongle to either data log or do visual confirmation, but unless you have looked at your boost numbers before, you won't know if it's really normal for your car. A voltmeter for your battery is useful to notice when it's not charging properly. Having a boost gauge on a bone stock car is mainly useful if you notice it's not acting normal.
